The anchorage was quite unusual with the erratic ground but it was also protected by a huge reef with enormous breakers facing us only about a mile away. It was one of the calmest anchorages we've had but a tad on the spooky side.
It was a really nice motorsail up into the Golfo Dulce and we arrived in Golfito in time to have drinks and dinner with old friends from the sailing vessels Copernicus and Brio. The following day, our comrades on sv Bluejacket blew into the bay bringing new friends; sv Rockstar and Night Sky. Soon after them, friends on Eternal Bliss and Endorfin anchored just behind us. We have been where they are all going, so we have been very busy being a couple of "know-it-alls" spreading wisdom and Dois' special brand of humor. It's been a whirlwind of drinks and meals with friends and I ate one too many burgers. I'm recovering, trying to get ready to leave here for Drake's Bay. They've all left for adventures south... some more adventurous than others; sv EB and sv Endorfin left in a freakin storm. Oh yes, storms here every night, another reason to get out of here. Enough lightening to drive us both crazy.
This really looked like a ball of fire over the jungle. I try to limit the sunset shots, but this one had to go on the blog. We got pasted by a storm this night.
Fair winds to all our southern travellers! Peace.
