Boca Chica to Isla Parida, Panama
Having left Boca Chica behind, Ashika anchored in Socorro Bay on Isle Parida. The journey began on March 6th on an early morning high tide on a calm day with light breezes from the Southwest. It took 1 hour. The captain and crew (me, Ginger and Daisy) inflated a kayak and along with the hard kayak went for a trip to the jungleland beach. Ginger was so excited she barked all the way to the beach only stopping at each fall (or jump?) overboard. When we returned to the ship, Carlos, an island local was there with 4 live lobster and a Parrot fish.
I really dont know if we should be eating any fish named after parrots, but a local named Carlos convinced us it was the best eating fish around and he filleted it for us making it really easy. We gave him $15 and a package of powdered milk for his son. We have been eating lobster for days, the fillets are in the freezer waiting. We eat like kings.
