The Galley
Aft Cabin
The aft stateroom has a full size berth on Port and a low bureau with an L-shape bench with storage below and behind. There is an ensuite head with a hand held shower faucet and a Raritan manual pump head. A bureau with 4 drawers and 2 cabinets and a large cubby leads to a long bookshelf on starboard with which is where our Icom 710 radio is mounted. It is located there for proximity to the 140 Tuner and it's a great spot to relax while on the radio. There are miles of copper in the bilge to help bounce our signals into the atmosphere. There are two drawers under the bed and another two cupboards at the bench mimicking the design of the saloon settees and they are also caned. There are also huge spaces under the bed for more long term storage and a cubby hole in the teak and holly sole. We have installed a Raymarine Auto Pilot under the bunk and an air conditioning unit in the lazarette that is directed into the aft cabin. It is a god-send on hot summer nights.
The Under-World of Ashika
Under the teak and holly sole is another vast and interesting place. Here you will find her over-built construction and large tankage. She was designed with generous water tanks that hold 230 gallons, fuel tanks of 180 gallons and a 60 gallon holding tank (Let's hope she is never carrying that much effluent).
This is also where you will find the sumps that service the heads and through-hulls that service the various salt water needs for cooling engines, etc. And... you guessed it; more storage space. You will not run out of places to put all your stuff on this boat... well you might, but it only means you have a lot of stuff.
