San Carlos, Mexico to
Bahia Conception, Baja
Early in the evening we were surrounded by thousands of small dolphins and while they never lost focus of their fishing efforts, a pod of much larger common dolphins swam briefly under our bow. All night long we could hear blowing, spouting and splashing. There was a half moon but it wasn't enough light to see if we were travelling with whales or dolphin or both. A brisk 10 to 15 knot southerly blew us most of the way across the Sea of Cortez and although Ashika is 39 years old, she points well and we had no problem making the entrance of the Bay.
